This page contains more fan mail regarding Melinda Doolittle and
her premature ousting from American Idol. Fans have been outraged
and bewildered as Melinda got the boot in May 16, 2007 from America's
most watched TV show.
Seemingly the frontrunner for most of the season's American Idol
competition, Melinda Doolittle nonetheless had to succumb to the
polling though most were shocked by the results. Read what here

I hope Melinda gets to read some of these comments. I just can't
believe the stupidity of the American public. Melinda is one of
the best ever to come along on American Idol. The show is becomming
a place for teeny bopper girls to sit for 2 hours after the show
and vote over and over again for the cutest boy no matter how bad
he sings. I think the show is going to lose a lot of adult viewers
after this, myself included. Now don't get me wrong, Jordin and
Blake have talent, but Melinda is a natural!!
Melinda, if you read this, you can bet there will be a lot of people
waiting for your first CD. Don't get discouraged by this bogus show.
Keep going, you deserve it!!!

As a fellow resident of Nashville, I am first in awe of your annointed
talent and have followed you since you first headed to Hollywood!
Second, I too join the thousands and thousands that will no longer
watch American Idol. Could the vote have been a sham? Possibly,
but I think that it is more of an indictment of the sad state of
affairs in this country. What do we "Idol"ize in this
country? Apparently it is youth (under 25) and sex. I APPLAUD you
for never backing down on your beliefs and values!!! You are a beautiful
woman, and you showed us you are a W-O-M-A-N as created by God without
flaunting your self. Third, from being in Nashville, we know the
music business is a tough place, but I along with the million others
urge you to sign on where the label will honor you and God. We anxiously
await the project!
You are my 'Idol' right behind God and my Mom as well!

I cannot believe this has happened! This is the only year of Idol
that I have followed all the way through and watched from the selection
process. I now know why I haven't participated much. Melinda should
have gone on to be the Idol this year. She is by far the most talented
entertainer that Idol has seen in a long time. I honestly thought
the final two would be Melinda and Lakisha. I am with a few others
in saying I think I will not be following the Idol program any longer.
There has been a lot of talent wasted in the AI process as well
as no-so-talented contestants shoved down our throats. Melinda will
and should go on with her career. I believe she has the ability
to rise above this elimination because, as the judges have said,
she is the step beyond the others. Leave 'em in the dust, sweetie!!

Hi Melinda--I hope you know deep in your heart how much America
loves you and your incredible voice which is a gift from our great
God!!!! Our family has enjoyed watching you all the way through
from the tryouts. You have been an honor to our Lord in every show
and in every part of the competition. I liked the way Simon once
asked you--"Are you always this nice?"--You are a testimony
to the world of Jesus' love and attitudes--Thank you for honoring
Christians in your humility--keep it up!
I guess the majority of fans of American Idol, at least the voting
ones, are very young and cannot appreciate good voices, pitch control,
etc. That's too bad. It does make us want to just stop watching
the show when you and others have been voted off through the years.
But, I am confident that God has some incredible plans for you.
Your future recordings will be playing in our house. We are looking
forward to hearing you and I hope we can get to one of your concerts
someday to watch you praise God and to worship Him with you.

I'm a fan from the Philippines. I was very eager to see you make
it to the finals but it has certainly been the weirdest Idol season
ever...they voted off the best singer in the group! Melinda you
are phenomenal. I do not think at all that you were technical in
your performances...girl, you have soul! You made me listen to music
that I didn't even like.
I hope that record offers are flooding your way by now. I will be
the first in line to buy them. Good Luck and Mabuhay!
