More Fan Mail
As I have watched and praised Melinda this season - from the audition
on, she was my prediction to win the whole time!! I have loved her
and wish that she had won, she is one of the BEST singer/performer
that I have ever seen. From her first note to her last, each song
was always controlled and performed perfectly. Thank you for "something
to look forward to" on Idol this year. May God continue to
bless you and I will look forward to keeping up with you and your
career!!

Just one of the many fans taking time to let you know that you
were the best contestant on American Idol. It's a shame that certain
Americans or others in the world because of a biased attitude did
not vote for you, your talent and charm was truly inspirational.
Everyone wants their friend or favorite to win but when you look
at every aspect of your singing ability you were absolutely Outstanding.
Good luck in your endeavors.

Hi Malinda Dolittle,
I enjoyed watching you perform on American Idol, but this morning
I found out someone enjoyed you just a bit more. My nephew watched
all of your performances from day one. Hes a very energetic
five year old, but hes been through quit a bit in his short
life-time. He was born 3 months premature, and only weighed 3 pounds
and 5 ounces. He was also born with a condition called hydrocephalus
(water on the brain). While all of this is going on he also had
to have shauntes placed near his brain to regulate to fluid build
up near the brain. I know how he feels, because uncle Alvin was
born with the same condition. Well to make the long story short,
when you where eliminated last night he was so upset he had a seizure.
I was writing to see if you could possibly send him a comforting
email so he will know that everything is ok with you. A surprise
phone call would be even better for him. Please respond if you can.
Thanks A. L Harris

One word for American Idol is "phony," when clearly the
best singer and performer doesn't win. Maybe the outcome would be
different if the judging was similar to the show Dancing With the
Stars. Melinda, you are the best, just keep going and don't get
discouraged. There are so many of us waiting for your first CD.
Sincerely,

When they said those horrible horrible words, "Melinda, this
is the end of your journey." I sat there with my mouth open.
I kept thinking, this is a joke, Ryan is always playing jokes. IT
CAN'T BE TRUE!! Melinda there was an obvious gliche last night.
I am assuming that people took it for granted that you were going
to win and didn't feel they needed the support the vote.
I am sorry, I am one of those people. I thought in my heart, this
is a no brainer, Melinda is going to win, I am just going to sit
back and let it happen. My heart is broken, I am raging mad. How
could this happen to my girl. I have been a big big fan of American
Idol since the beginning and have never loved a singer like I love
your singing. I have never bought any CD's but you bet your sweet
patootie that yours will be the first I buy. Love you!!

I have never written such an e-mail and I only hope this finds
it way to Melinda Doolittle. I am a 56 year old male and have listened
to thousands of talented voices over the years. Melinda is in the
class of Whitney, Celine, Aretha, Barbara et.al. Thank you so much
for sharing your talent with us thru American Idol. It has been
the highlight of my weeks to hear you sing and watch you perform
your magic with a song. You are truly a wonderful professional but
even more is to have watched the grace that you have exhibited week
after week. What a wonderful role model for aspiring vocalists.
I have watched American Idol for all of the years but have never
seen someone with your talent and grace. I see Jesus in you Melinda.
Thank you for that. I'd like to know of any performances/ c.d.'s
that you will have... this is a first for me but you have made me
into a huge fan.

You are the best! I couldn't watch American Idol last night because
I had picked up on the website that you might be voted out. I read
that on Monday, but thought that American's would vote on talent.
You did a consistent good job week after week. After the voting
this week, I am through watching American Idol, Unless the rules
for voting if changed, I am forever through with American Idol.
The only good thing about the entire show is that it gave me a chance
to see someone so talented and such a pleasure to listen to. Each
week, I only waited for you to perform because I knew that you would
give a flawless performance.
The reason, however, that I won't watch the show again, not even
the final show, is because the show is not based on talent. So,
why should I waste my time for an entire season watching a performer
like you only to see you voted off because of dumb people. The judges
should have a vote each week because they do recognize real talent.
So, if the voting system doesn't change, I will no longer watch.
Always see the better plan for your life. With your talent and
faith, you can't fail. I can only wait to see you again and to buy
your CDs.I'm a christian and I'm happy to read that you're also
a christian. Just listen to God and follow his plans for your life.
He knew a long time ago what would happen on Wednesday night and
He has a better plan for you. Just remember that your times are
in His hands. And last night was no surprise for Him. I will always
pray for you and know that you will do well. You're a great young
talented lady and my blessings to you.
Love to you dear one.

I would like to have a CD or DVD of Melinda . She was, absolutely,
hands down, the best contestant ever. I never missed a performance.
I don't know how America could think Jordin Sparks and Blake can
sing. They are not amazing. I taped every show and the only singer
I wanted to hear was Melinda. Please let me know if she plans to
travel and do some shows--just don't include Jordin and Blake. I
enjoyed listening to LaKisha also but experience was her problem.
I'm a 63 year old white female.
