Fan Mail
I lived in London, UK. I woke up this morning and checking the
news in the internet as usual. And the first thing I checked was
the result of American Idol. After I saw the headline, I had the
gut wrenching feeling in my stomach. I was disappointed, angry beyond
words. The result was beyond unfair and I felt the pain.
I want to tell you that when you stepped into the lime light. I
can feel your anxiety. I can relate to it. I was very good in school
but never believe that I was good enough. I always talked myself
down. When thing didn't go my way, I said to myself that "oh
that's because you are not good enough, you are not worth it".
But you know what! - that's not true. I did that to make the disappointment
less painful. I realised that much later and trained myself over
the years to overcome it.
When I saw you in the American Idol. I put my heart out to cheer
you. I saw you gain more confidence weeks after weeks. And I'm happy
to see that. I like the comments from Diana Ross and Tony Bennett.
Both veterans realized that the show is just one tiny step of the
long career. They have looked beyond the show and saw that you will
do well in this biz with perseverance. So don't be discourage. This
is just a tiny glitch in your career and I'm sure that it will work
out for the best. Already financial wise, you can negotiate a better
contract without having to pay a large cut to the Idol show.
And remember that you are good enough. In fact, you are the best
singer the idol show ever found. They have achieved their mission
in trying to discover the rare gem. The majority of the Idol viewers
is probably about 20-30% of the whole population. Their votes, despite
the claim, do not represent the opinion of the whole American population.
In any case, you have a lots of fan who will buy your CD and go
to your concert. If you decide to come to England, I'll buy your
ticket in a heartbeat. And lots of my friends will come too. We
enjoyed your performance during the show. You did very well.

Melinda, you have just proved a point. American Idol is a sham.
I will never dedicate time to watch it again. They know that you
should be the "Idol" winner but it appears that they have
perfected the art of getting rid of the best before the competition
is over. I hope that this does not discourage you in any way.
You are good enough to release your CDs immediately. So get to
work and they will see you shine. You are clearly the winner and
they did their magic again. You are a natural star.

You are absolutely and clearly the best performer and should have
been voted this year's idol. Somehow some group must have hijacked
the show. Dont' be discouraged or swayed one bit! Record an album.
I'll buy it, and lot's of people like me.

I've watched you from day 1 and loved your humility and love for
the Lord. I wanted to let you know that when God closes one door,
he surely opens another. God is so awesome and he will continue
to bless your voice and career. I've enjoyed watching you on AI,
when your journey ended on AI so did mine for watching the show.

begun a good work in you shall perform it until the day of redemption"(philippians

My family wanted to let her know we believe she did an OUTSTANDING
job this entire season! We faithfully watched and rooted for her
(voted too). We believe she will do well in her singing career in
the future and look forward to buying her CDs. I hate that she was
not the winner of American Idol, but I like to think of Jennifer
Hudson and how well she has done. Great job, Melinda!! Good luck
in the future!

I am writing to you from London, England after watching American
Idol on ITV (Which we have to wait until the following Saturday
after it is aired in the US). I honestly cannot believe what I have
just witnessed. I cannot understand how America has voted you off
the show, you were by far, the best singer, the most talented, warmest,
honest, genuine and lovely people American Idol has ever had on
its show, ever.
Every time I have listened to you sing, I get a shiver down my back
and a wonderful warm feeling inside. Their are not that many singers
who make me feel like that but Tina Turner and your good self are
two that do. Love your rendition of 'Nutbush City Limits' It was
excellent and superb, well done.
I know that you will become a world renowned singer, in your own
good time. When you do, please come to London and perform for us,
we love you over her, you are a mega star. Thank you for all the
enjoyment you have given to us thus far and long may your singing
career continue and flourish, may God continue to Bless you Melinda,
